Share your trip and trusted contacts
Send a live link to your ride, add trusted contacts, and have your trips shared with them automatically.
Do this when you want someone to follow your ride. The person does not need the GuyWay app.
Before you start. A driver must have accepted the ride.
Share a ride
- On the ride screen, tap Safety, then Share trip. The More menu on the driver card has the same option.
- Choose how to send it:
- Send to your first trusted contact. GuyWay sends the link by WhatsApp, or by SMS.
- Send to the person you booked for. They get the car, the plate, their PIN and the live link.
- More options opens your phone's share sheet.
The link shows the ride's status, where the car is, and the time to the pickup or the drop-off. It stops working when the ride ends. A message GuyWay sends also names the car and the plate.
Add trusted contacts
- Open the Account tab and tap Safety. The same screen is under Settings, Trusted contacts.
- Tap Add a contact.
- Enter the Name, their mobile number and how you know them.
- Tap Add contact.
You can keep up to 5. When you hold SOS, every trusted contact is texted a link to follow the car.
Share every trip automatically
On the Safety screen, under Share my trips automatically, choose:

| All trips | Every trusted contact gets your live link when each trip starts |
| Night trips | The same, for trips that start between 20:00 and 06:00 |
| Off | Nothing is sent unless you share. This is the default |
If something goes wrong
| Problem | Likely cause | Fix |

| Safety is not shown | No driver has accepted yet | Wait until the driver's details appear |
| Sending failed | WhatsApp and SMS could not deliver | Use More options and send the link yourself |
| The link no longer works | The ride has ended | Share the next ride when it starts |
